Who cares about the gloomy July weather that we have been having? We packed up and headed to the beach anyways! The kids had a great time and even went into the cooold water! The best part was that the beach was not one bit crowded! Hahha! Wonder why?? We ended the day with a walk down to dog beach to pacify Avery! Later, we headed over to one of my student's family mexican restaurant! We never get tired of good Mexican food!! Yum!

Roman lost his first tooth today! It was hanging on for weeks but finally came out in the car on the way to Grandma Cordova's! I think Avery was just as excited as Roman. Now he is all ready to go to Toys R Us!!!

Avery spent a week at Horse Camp! She loved it so much and was very good with Whiskers, the horse she rode. She learned to ride alone without a lead, trot, barrel race and trail ride! We spent the day packing for our camping trip, so not too exciting! The kids had fun helping put EVERYTHING in the trailer! Boy, camping is hard work! That night we watched fireworks from our backyard while Avery sang her Kindergarten song "Proud to be An American" at the top of her lungs!! Many times might I add! Every year our school has an art festival to showcase student art. Avery and her ladybug was her favorite, although they were all good! Our big family gift was the Wii! We love it so much and it is sooo fun! A few nights ago Mike brought home the Wii Sing and now Avery and I think that we are real singers!!

Santa brought Roman an awfully big remote control car! I questioned "Santa" if this gift was really for Roman or "Santa"! Looks so big for a 3 year old.....

Avery's wishes came true and Biscuit arrived for her! Finally a dog that she can sleep with! This dog can respond to over 6 voice commands and it doesn't poop in the house! We are all very happy!

On Christmas Eve we went to church and then out to dinner with my parents and brother at BJ's Brewhouse in Temecula. We had a great time. Avery was sooo good in church and Roman did OK, just like Kevin!

Grand Canyon, Yikes!

Polar Express

Last weekend we took a trip to Williams, Arizona. We went for a ride to the "North Pole" on the famous Polar Express train. We had a great time, as the pictures show! We finally decided to give in and get the kids a quad of their own. It is a little big for Roman and he'll have to grow into it, but Avery absolutely loves it. Mike rode with her for a while until she felt comfortable. She spent the rest of the day going (way too fast) around and around her grandma and grandpa's backyard.

On Saturday Avery went to a friend's birthday party! They painted pottery and danced to Hannah Montana songs! Avery made a very colorful unicorn. We can't wait to bring it home!

Drive In

We packed up our pillows and blankets and headed for the local drive in! We saw Madagascar 2. The kids loved it and we actually enjoyed ourselves too! It was a cold night, but a fun one too! Avery and Roman entertained the crowd with their silliness before the show began! Going to the drive in always reminds us of when we were kids so we like to pass that memory on to our kids!

Ice Skating is Fun!

On Thursday afterschool we went ice skating with some friends. It was strange getting the kids all bundled up when it was 80 degrees outside, but we needed to as it was very cold inside the Iceoplex! It was the kids first time and they really did well. Roman stuck to the "walker"and that really helped! He looked hilarious, like a granny! Avery ventured out on her own and finally got the hang of it after many, many falls! She also enjoyed eating the ice! Somethings never change! We had such a great time and can't wait to go back again soon!

Halloween 2008

Halloween was loads of fun! Surprisingly, we made it around to about 30 houses and one haunted house! Super girl Avery flew from house to house and Incredible Hulk Roman growled at everyone along the way. It was hilarious! As the pictures show, they were definitely worn out by the end of the night. On the way home Mike had to carry Roman up our hill!

Last night we went to Sea World. The Sea Lion and Otter show was our favorite. It was sooo funny! These pictures were taken as we were waiting for the show to start. Check out the sky in the background of Avery's picture. (I even managed to get a seagull flying by) Later, we saw the Shamu Rocks show and sat in the wet zone! We definitely got wet. On Saturday we cleaned out the garage! Fun, right? Well, that afternoon we decide to go hiking at Torrey Pines Trails. We like to go there because you can hike down the mountain right to the beach. The kids had so much fun!! Mike even brought his hiking stick that I swore he'd never use!! We made it down to the beach just in time to see the sunset! What a nice way to spend a Saturday evening in San Diego!! We forget how lucky we are!!!

Today I got some "extra" help with changing the sheets on my bed! Yes, Avery and Roman decided to hide in the sheets when I went to answer the phone! Surprise Mommy! I really think that they should have been extra nice to me today! After all, I took them to see Space Chimps which, by the way, had a C- rating ! Let's just say that it won't be winning any Academy awards!! But, all that said, I do love the lazy days of Summer!!

The UPS man came today with a special delivery for Michael. He finally got his new TaylorMade golf clubs! He was more than excited to try them out! Roman laughed as I took these pictures of him practicing his swing! He thought it was so funny that his daddy was trying to hit without a ball! That took a lot of explaining! We are very sad to report that Macee, our beautiful Husky dog is no longer with us. She passed away last Thursday. We are still not sure why or how she got soo sick. She will be missed by all of us, including our new puppy Beatrice. We have had Macee since she was a little scared, abandoned puppy that we found one cold October night in 2001. She was our first baby! Roman said something very cute after we told the kids the sad news. He said that its OK because Macee can play with Cody up in heaven!

OK! I'm trying not to be like Kate from the show "John and Kate Plus Eight" but seriously!! Check out the kid's shirts after returning from their Grandma and Grandpa Cordova's house!

Apparently cupcakes were made and lots of time was spent outside!

Well, I guess you can say that they had fun!

Beach Day

On Sunday we went to the beach. The kids had a great time. Avery loves the ocean and is getting more and more brave in the water with each trip. Roman wants to like it, but is a bit more apprehensive. He prefers to boogie board his way, with no waves or even water in sight!
